Introduction

The beginning.

Society is on the brink of collapse, as the effects of the Black Mesa Research Facility's industrial accident continue to wrangle the Earth.

All of Black Mesa's employees are presumed dead following the nuclear strike against the facility.

So-called 'portal storms' burgeon chaos and mass relocation in the deserts. As a result, a global resource deprivation of monumental proportions sends countries into conflict.

Amidst the confusion, governments, unions, and coalitions begin to crumble under the weight of the situation at hand.

They came from the stars.

An alien militia emerges from the skies
and, within seven hours, the remaining Earthern armies are overwhelmed.

Earth had become enslaved by this alien force. The populace of Earth would soon be driven into a workforce.

The Combine.

The true scope of this invasion is left to speculation by those who still survive, with word of the Combine's presence throughout the known universe.

Commonly referred to as the Universal Union is an intergalactic formation of multiple species and alien lifeforms to form one combined force to ultimately grow and take over all worlds it comes across. The complete takeover of Earth took a total of seven hours known as the "Seven Hour War" and ultimately destroyed 75% of the population. The forces that gave up or resisted were captured and integrated into the Combine ranks. The survivors from the militaries of Earth were transformed into the Overwatch Transhuman Arm. The cities that were taken over had all it's citizens relocated into what are now know as Cities associated with a number to correspond with it. The humans that were classed as Police Officers or had some type of protection job were quickly taken and made into Civil Protection in order to control the remaining population. The Combine then activated one of their creations known as the suppression field, it was used to prevent pregnancy within the human race so the Combine did not have to use any more resources to control the population.

Among the populace rose a name, George Martreen, a pre-occupation politician with a shady background. He soon becomes Earth's Administrator in the year 2016.

Present day, 2016.

In the present year, George Martreen has established his headquarters on Earth in City 18.

Thirteen years since the Combine had enslaved the Earth, George Martreen rules with an iron fist.

Life continues with uncertainty and no serenity.
