The ARK: 2016 is a serious roleplaying gamemode set in the world of Half-Life 2 in the year 2016. Some inspiration was taken from forms of media, videogames or other roleplay servers, such as auraWatch and nebulous.cloud, in order to provide the best possible roleplaying experience. Some events and details, such as Wallace Breen's rise to power, are retconned in favor of story elements unique to the gamemode.

The project began development around early 2022 and would host a couple playtests to the public. The server has no schedule as of current or any date for a full release. Playtests are announced via the Discord as well as updates and discussions about the gamemode.

The ARK is directed by dave and rico, developed by dave and filterfeeder, and moderated by filterfeeder, DanteeZe, palcon, and northnortheast.
